MISSION

The mission of Zion Lutheran Preschool is to meet the needs of the Whole Child in an environment that also nurtures the spiritual growth of the child.
Jesus is the model we follow. Zion Lutheran’s Preschool Program exists for the purpose of sharing the love of Jesus. In so doing we follow Jesus’ command “To go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19-20

PURPOSE

Research indicates that the education or training that children receive during the early years lays the foundation for later learning. During these years, children need a stimulating environment to aid in developing their potential. They need enriching experiences to help them develop a positive self-concept. Zion offers a program that provides children with a wide variety of learning. In this safe, secure, and Christian environment, children will be free to explore, receive guidance and experience success. Every effort is made to nurture the growth and development of your child. Through a series of carefully guided learning experiences we aim to develop the physical, social, emotional, and mental powers of the child.

GROWTH GOALS

Spiritual Growth

Picture

Spiritual growth involves spending time each day learning more about Jesus, our loving Savior, and what He has done for each of us. The children develop a love for Jesus and they are assured that they are loved and  forgiven by God.

Physical Growth

Picture

Physical growth involves an awareness of health and safety habits, developing  motor skills, rhythm, and balance. Also, visual and auditory discrimination, cutting, play dough, sewing cards, running, jumping, and climbing.

Mental Growth

Picture

Mental growth involves self-expression, creativity and responsibility, and challenges in music, art, and science. The children learn to interpret what they see and hear around them, which results in questioning, interacting, and generalizing.

Social Growth

Picture

Social growth involves getting along with others and becoming sensitive to their needs, learning the value of socially acceptable behavior, and learning to function as part of a group. This is developed during free play activities and circle time.

Emotional Growth

Picture

Emotional growth involves the ability to separate from the shelter of home and parents with a reasonable amount of ease, and develop a sense of trust in new environments. Emotional growth also involves dealing with one’s feelings and controlling them in an acceptable way.
